Dr. Shaw is happy to welcome friends and family members to her practice.  All naturopathic physicians are trained in general family medicine and focus on treating the individual as opposed to treating a specific condition or set of symptoms.  If you have further questions please don’t hesitate to contact us.

You do not need a referral from your GP to become a patient of Dr. Shaw.  However, if you have been referred by your ND, acupuncturist or other healthcare provider, it is helpful if they provide a referral letter ahead of your first visit. 

At this point in time naturopathic physicians are unable to bill MSP for consultations or lab testing.  Most extended health plans will cover the cost for naturopathic and/or acupuncture visits. Please check with your insurance provider for more details. 

Chinese medicine (including acupuncture) is just one of the many modalities which naturopathic physicians are trained to use.  However, naturopathic physicians are also able to act as primary care providers using many of the standard tools used by your regular family physician.  Dr.Shaw is dual licensed, meaning she is registered as both an acupuncturist and a naturopathic doctor.  This means you may be able to claim your visits with her under either license with your insurance provider.
